Hey, Beautybugs! I’ve been eyeing for quite long time for these products. Girlactik is a slightly unknown brand (well, sort of an indie brand), unless you’re an addict to the frequent makeup world of Instagram, you might not have heard of it. But then I decided to get some by ordering them online. ‘Cause yeah, some of my favourite Beauty Gurus on Instagram been raving about it. Let’s take a full Girlactik Matte Lip Paint review.
Girlactik Matte Lip Paint ($23) is an opaque liquid lip paint that dries completely to a beautiful matte finish without leaving a flaky feeling on your lips.
There are 5 colours available on the website, the latest one, “Flirtatious”, has been sold out (ugh!). I ordered 3 colours, which are “Starlet”, “Allure”, and “Demure”.
When I opened the package, and took them out of the bubblewrap, the boxes came in a cute pink bag. The box itself has a sweet vintage touch to it, which is quite classy. The lip paint tube comes in bronze-brownish metallic features which makes it so elegant. The lip paint tube feels very lightweight but holds a good amount of product.
The colour in the tube shows a pretty accurate display of the shade, and it looks exactly how it is when swatched, so it’s pretty easy to decide on which one to get.
“Starlet” is the lightest, most pink shade among another shade. While “Allure” is such a beautiful neutral brick, almost mauve-brownish. And “Demure” is a dusty mauve which has a hint brown to it. It’s pretty similar with Kat Von D “Lolita”. I definitely feel like their Matte Lip Paint colors looks completely different on every skintone but will look absolutely stunning nonetheless.
The product comes in a tube, and applies so dreamy. You can apply one layer for more a subtle look, because it’s such an opague lip paint. Or wait for the first layer to dry, and you can add more layer until you reach your desired opacity.
The formula has sort of like a mousse consistency which is really good because it goes on sooo smoothly.
Surprisingly it feels extremely moisturizing upon application, and it doesn’t feel sticky at all! One thing that kinda bothering me is, it does have quite strong scent that lingers when I applied it the first time onto my lips. But after a few minutes, the scent isn’t noticeable anymore.
Surprisingly, it doesn’t budge at all! So I guess it’s a water-proof, smudge-proof, transfer-proof, and also kiss-proof (I tested already! Tee-hee!), but you have to wait a minute until it dries into the perfect matte finish.
The product comes with a doe foot applicator, which makes the application much easier. You can also achieve a precise application with this wand, so I guess this is such a perfect applicator.
The longevity is pretty good as well. It lasts almost 9 hours on my lips, so at this point, it hasn’t budged one bit.
It doesn’t chapped on my lips, which is reaaally good because most liquid matte lipstick left me a flaky feeling. It does start to fade along the inner parts of my lips because I’ve eaten greasy & oily food like burger. However, if you spend most of your day with light meals, the color will definitely look almost exactly the same as when you first applied it.
- Mousse-like consistency glides on lips which is so smoothly.
- Precision applicator for accurate placement of color.
- Doesn’t dry or flake out the lips.
- Formulated without parabens.
- Longevity is truly good!
- Has a quite strong scent which is not very pleasant if you’re sensitive.
Well, this is such a long review, so you can certainly tell how much I love this matte lip paint! The packaging, the shade, the formula, the applicator, and the longevity makes this matte lip paint my absolute holy grail product ’cause it has everything I look for in a lipstick!
It’s definitely a splurge, but I assure you that it’s entirely worth it.
What do you think?
Will you be snapping these up?
I hope you enjoyed my review, and thanks for stopping by!
